Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University has added another milestone to its accomplishments in the field of culture and the arts. Students of Manas University achieved remarkable success at the 3rd Student Theater Festival of the Turkic World, held in Almaty from May 20 to 22, 2025.
The festival, organized in collaboration with the TURKSOY and the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, brought together talented young performers from across the Turkic world. University students from Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan showcased theatrical performances that reflected the shared cultural values and rich artistic heritage of the Turkic World.
Representing Manas University, fourth-year students from the Department of Theater took to the stage with the play Korkut Ata, written by Kairat Imanaliev, People’s Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic and acclaimed playwright. Under the guidance of Head of the Department of Theater, Instr. Gulmira Tynalieva, and Lecturer Adylbek Bolorbek uulu, the performance received high praise from both the audience and the jury for its artistic depth and powerful cultural expression.
At the conclusion of the festival, Manas University students were honored with the Special Jury Award as well as the Togetherness is Strength special prize. These prestigious recognitions stand as a testament to the students' dedication, talent, and creative efforts.
A Lifetime Dedicated to Art and Youth: Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan Receives Gold Medal
In a separate highlight of the festival, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, was awarded a Gold Medal by Prof. Dr. Arman Zhudebaev, Rector of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. This distinguished honor recognizes Prof. Dr. Ceylan’s visionary leadership in promoting the arts and supporting young talent throughout the Turkic world.
The award celebrates his unwavering commitment to cultural cooperation and his significant contributions to fostering artistic education. It also underscores his deep belief in the unifying and transformative power of the arts.
