Celebration of the 102nd Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye Held at Atatürk Park in Bishkek

The 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with a wreath-laying ceremony organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bishkek at Atatürk Park.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, embassy staff, senior administration, academics and students of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, teachers and students from schools affiliated with the Educational Counsellor’s Office of the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek, representatives of various associations, and members of the press.

The event began with the laying of wreaths at the Atatürk Monument. Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bishkek, was the first to lay a wreath. He was followed by representatives of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Office in Bishkek, the Rectorate of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, the Chief Physician of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Turkish-Kyrgyz Businessmen’s Association, the Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Cultural Center in Bishkek, and the Ahıska Turks Association in Kyrgyzstan.

Following the wreath-laying, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all martyrs, after which the Turkish National Anthem was sung.

In his address, Ambassador Ökem emphasized: “The Republic is a sacred day on which the Turkish nation reaffirms, with pride and unity, its deep-rooted identity and values. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stands as the foremost architect and enduring symbol of this unity.”

Ambassador Ökem further referred to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision of the “Century of Türkiye,” stating: “Our strength to build this future stems from the national consciousness elevated by Atatürk.” He concluded his remarks by saying: “We commemorate with mercy and gratitude the founder of our Republic Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all our heroes. Happy Republic Day of October 29.”

Following the speeches, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s message on the occasion of the Republic Day was read aloud. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session.
