Manas TV, the official media outlet of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, has been granted an “Honor Award” by the Association of News Cameramen of Turkey in recognition of its “exemplary contribution to international public broadcasting.”

At the ceremony held during the final stage of the “Zoom International News Footage Competition,” which has been organized without interruption for 28 years, it was emphasized that Manas TV has made a significant contribution to strengthening friendship between the two countries and consistently upholds public-interest principles in its editorial policy.

Award Ceremony at the July 15 Democracy Museum in Ankara

The award was presented at a ceremony held at the July 15 Democracy Museum, located within the Presidential Complex of the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara.

The award was received on behalf of Manas TV by its Director, Dr. Bülent Namal, who accepted it from the President of the Association of News Cameramen of Turkey, Aytekin Polatel.

During the ceremony, the President of the Association and the Director General of the National Radio and Television Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic (UTRK), Ulanbek Satiev, also signed a cooperation protocol.

Visit to the Director General of TRT

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baysalov, Dr. Bülent Namal, and Ulanbek Satiev also paid a visit to the Director General of TRT, Prof. Mehmet Zahid Sobacı.

During the meeting, Dr. Namal conveyed to Prof. Sobacı the greetings of the Rector of Manas University, Prof. Alpaslan Ceylan, along with an invitation to visit the university.

Prof. Sobacı stated that he would be pleased to visit Kyrgyzstan and the university.

The following topics were discussed during the meeting:

    •    the importance of establishing a Union of Turkic Broadcasters within the Organization of Turkic States;

    •    prospects for implementing joint projects among TRT Avaz, Manas TV, and UTRK;

    •    the contribution of Manas University to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s media sector;

    •    the role of Manas TV in supporting the continuity of secondary education in Kyrgyzstan during the pandemic.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the TRT studios.

Meeting with the Coordinator of TRT Avaz

The Director of Manas TV and the Director General of UTRK also met with Yücel Kılıçkaya, the Coordinator of TRT Avaz.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation and developing joint television programs and media productions.
