Commemoration Concert for Âşık Veysel Held at Manas University
Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Faculty of Fine Arts hosted a Commemoration Concert for Âşık Veysel to honor the great Turkish folk bard Âşık Veysel.
The program was held at the Rectorate Conference Hall and was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, the Representative of the TRNC in Bishkek Tahir Osman Tahir; the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Director of the Turkish Cultural Center at the Bishkek Yunus Emre Institute Sinan Yaman, staff members of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bishkek, the Chief Physician of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital, representatives of TUKID, as well as many academicians, students, and guests.
Academicians and students from the Department of Music of the Faculty of Fine Arts took part in the program, bringing Âşık Veysel’s heartfelt world and the wisdom of Anatolia to the stage. At the end of the program, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem and the Rector of Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan presented flowers to the artists in appreciation of their contributions to the event.
