Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Ak Kalpak Day, celebrated on March 5, one of Kyrgyzstan’s important cultural days. In his message, Rector Ceylan stated: “Ak Kalpak, one of the most significant symbols representing the historical identity, cultural values, and deep-rooted traditions of the Kyrgyz people, is not only a traditional headgear but also a powerful cultural emblem that reflects the honor, wisdom, and spirit of national unity of the Kyrgyz nation. Celebrated every year on March 5, Ak Kalpak Day holds great significance in terms of preserving this ancient cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.

For centuries, the Ak Kalpak has continued to exist as an important cultural symbol reflecting the lifestyle, value system, and collective memory of the Kyrgyz people. As a part of traditional craftsmanship, aesthetic understanding, and national identity, the Ak Kalpak also represents the richness and continuity of Kyrgyz culture.

As Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, we regard the preservation, promotion, and support of Kyrgyzstan’s rich cultural heritage through academic studies as an important responsibility. As a reflection of the strong fraternal ties between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan, our university will continue to contribute to sustaining shared cultural values and passing them on to younger generations.

On this meaningful occasion, I respectfully greet everyone, especially the Kyrgyz people who preserve the tradition of the Ak Kalpak and pass this cultural heritage on to future generations, and I sincerely congratulate you on Ak Kalpak Day.
