The online meeting was held to evaluate the current status of the scientific journals published within our university, discuss their index application processes, and consider development strategies.
The meeting was organized by the Scientific Journals Evaluation and Development Commission of our university with the aim of assessing the current status of the scientific journals published at KTMU, addressing their application processes to national and international indexes, and sharing strategies to enhance the academic visibility of the journals. In addition to the editors-in-chief of the journals and the members of the commission, the meeting was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sinan Aktaş, who has extensive experience in academic publishing through his long-standing work in scientific journal publishing, editorial roles, and membership on editorial boards.
During the meeting, comprehensive evaluations and exchanges of information were carried out regarding the application processes of academic journals to national and international indexes, the academic and technical quality criteria required by indexing services, the establishment of sustainable publication policies, and institutional experiences in academic publishing.
Prof. Dr. Aktaş shared his evaluations on increasing the international visibility of academic journals, strengthening publication quality, and the key criteria that should be considered in national and international index application processes. He also presented his views and recommendations on enhancing institutional collaboration and managing editorial processes in a more effective and sustainable manner.
