"Green Legacy” Campaign at Manas University: Ongoing Efforts for a Greener Future at the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus

Environmentally focused initiatives carried out under the slogan “Green Legacy” continue uninterrupted at the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. In line with the University’s vision for environmental protection and afforestation, a comprehensive environmental clean-up activity was organized at the Phase II Turkic World Botanical Garden.

The event was attended by the KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş, and Secretary-General Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil, along with staff from the Directorate of Student Dormitories, university personnel, and a large number of students. Conducted on a voluntary basis, the activity involved the careful collection of stones across the botanical garden area, contributing to landscaping improvements. These efforts not only enhanced the garden’s cleanliness and overall appearance, but also supported the promotion of a sustainable environmental awareness across the campus.

Rector Ceylan: “The Green Legacy and Breath for the Future Visions Inspire Our Work”

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the importance they attach to the “Green Legacy” vision of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, noting that the afforestation mobilization and “Breath for the Future” initiatives carried out under the leadership of the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, also serve as a source of inspiration for their efforts.

Stating that Manas University regularly conducts afforestation activities on campus each year, Rector Ceylan said: “We continue our efforts to make our campus greener and more livable. Today, by working together to collect stones in the Phase II Turkic World Botanical Garden, we are making the area more organized and functional.”
