On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Atatürk Park in Bishkek. Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, also attended the ceremony.
The 104th anniversary of the August 30 Victory, which crowned the Republic of Türkiye's struggle for independence with triumph, was commemorated with a ceremony in Bishkek. The event held at Atatürk Park was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, executives of Turkish institutions and organizations, academics, and invited guests.
Wreath Laid at the Atatürk Monument
The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths at the monument of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk located in Atatürk Park.
Wreaths were laid at the Atatürk Monument by Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak, KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, as well as representatives from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Representative Office in Bishkek, the Kyrgyzstan Ahıska Turks Association, the Turkish Businessmen Association (TÜKİD), and the Yunus Emre Institute.
Following the presentation of the wreaths, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, his comrades-in-arms, and the cherished martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the homeland. Subsequently, the Turkish National Anthem was performed.
President's August 30 Message Read Out
During the ceremony, the message issued by the President of the Republic of Türkiye on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day was shared with the attendees. The message emphasized that the Great Victory is one of the strongest manifestations of the Turkish nation's will for independence and freedom, highlighting the historic significance of the August 30 Victory—won under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk—on the path to the founding of the Republic of Türkiye. The cherished martyrs and veterans who showed selfless devotion for the country were remembered with mercy, gratitude, and appreciation.
As the program continued, Military Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek, Albay Tolga Takımcı, delivered a speech. Afterwards, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem addressed the participants.
The ceremony organized for August 30 Victory Day served as an occasion to once again recall the historical importance of the Republic of Türkiye's struggle for independence and the heroes who led that struggle to victory.
Bringing together representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations in Kyrgyzstan, the program concluded with a group photo of the participants taken in front of the Atatürk Monument to commemorate the day.
