EXPECTATİONS OF THE TEXTİLE SECTOR FROM VOCATİONAL EDUCATİON İN KYRGYZSTAN WİTHİN THE SCOPE OF SCHOOL INDUSTRY COOPERATİON: A CASE STUDY

The aim of this study is to investigate the expectations of small, medium, and large-scale enterprises officially operating in the field of clothing production technology in Kyrgyzstan from vocational high schools. For this purpose, interviews are conducted with managers of small, medium, and large-scale textile factories and production sites located in the center of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The research is descriptive in nature and designed in accordance with the phenomenological model. In this context, participants were asked for their opinions regarding vocational schools that train personnel for the textile sector in Kyrgyzstan, and their thoughts based on individual experiences were obtained. The study group consisted of 10 textile business managers determined in accordance with the criterion sampling technique from purposeful sampling methods. Interviews were conducted face-to-face, with the exception of only one business manager. Participants were asked questions such as what their expectations are from vocational education and what competencies a good staff member should possess. At the end of the research, the expectations of the sector from the schools based on industry-school cooperation specifically in Kyrgyzstan were determined, and related suggestions were included.
