SUSTAINABILITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF GLOBAL TRENDS (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezer Bozkuş Kahyaoğlu)
The guest of the Friday Conversations at the Open Tribune, held on Fridays for our students in our Faculty of Theology, on May 12, 2023, was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezer Bozkuş Kahyaoğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The opening speech was made by the Chairman of the Sustainable Development Commission and the member of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat. Kahyaoğlu made a presentation on the theme “SUSTAINABILITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF GLOBAL TRENDS”. The concepts of "sustainability" and "social responsibility", as an area with a high potential for interdisciplinary research and cooperation in science, were evaluated within the framework of sustainable development goals. At the same time, the students of the Faculty of Theology were informed about the objectives of our Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University as a member university of the PRIME platform, established by the United Nations, to make joint projects that will contribute to the internationalization and social benefit with the approach of "More Than Just a University". The conversation was held in an interactive way; in the speech the views and suggestions of our students were discussed on the basis of definitions and concepts of “Responsible University, Green University” and “Sustainable University” aimed at reconciling the strategic goals and objectives of the Faculty of Theology with sustainable development goals.
