On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 3:30 PM, an academic seminar was held at the Faculty of Theology of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The seminar was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nail Karagöz, a faculty member and head of the Islamic Sciences Department, who addressed the topic of "Maturidi’s Rationalism."
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayık, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat, academic and administrative staff, and university students.
The speaker discussed the rationalism of Maturidi, one of the prominent figures in Islamic thought who advocated for the connection between reason and divine revelation. He emphasized that Maturidi regarded reason as an essential tool for understanding the divine message and considered it a guide for correctly interpreting revelation.
At the end of the seminar, the speaker answered participants' questions. Following this, the Dean of the Faculty of Theology expressed gratitude to Nail Karagöz for his valuable presentation and presented him with a certificate of participation.
