As part of the 2025 Spring Semester social activities, the Faculty of Theology at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University organized an event titled “Understanding Religion Correctly and Inculturation” on February 13, 2025. The event, held as part of in-service training, was conducted by Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat.
The primary aim of the event was to refresh the professional knowledge of theology graduates and religious officials working in various institutions, provide scientifically accurate and correct information on fundamental religious topics, and establish a sound and sustainable understanding of religion.
The event covered topics such as the importance of choosing the right religion and understanding it correctly, methods of comprehension, the dimensions of religion, what religion is and is not, and different interpretations of religion. Special emphasis was placed on inculturation as a contemporary missionary method, with striking examples provided. Additionally, comparisons were made between Islam and other religions, and participants’ questions were addressed.
Approximately 40 people attended the seminar, which concluded with a chocolate treat in celebration of the Kandil night.
