Religious Talks for Women at Sarahsi Mosque 1


On Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Lecturer Mirgl Bekmurzayeva from KTMU’s Faculty of Theology conducted a seminar titled “Washing and Shrouding the Deceased” at the Sarahsi Mosque in Bishkek for female university students and women.

She emphasized that washing and shrouding the deceased is an important tradition in Islam and a religious duty aimed at bidding farewell to the deceased with respect. She explained the etiquette and sequence of the washing process, highlighting that it should generally be performed by close relatives or individuals with religious knowledge. She also stressed the importance of avoiding any improper behavior during the process and ensuring the cleanliness of the deceased's body.

Additionally, she provided a detailed explanation and demonstration of the shrouding process. In conclusion, she emphasized that these practices hold great significance in Islam, as they allow the family of the deceased to fulfill their final duty with respect and dignity.

This seminar, attended by female university students and women, attracted great interest from nearly 2,000 women.
