On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 15:00, a seminar titled “The Importance of Learning Arabic in the Study of Islamic Sciences” was held at the Faculty of Theology of KTUM. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Muhammet Berat Can, a faculty member of the Faculty of Theology at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University.
During the event, which saw active participation from both academics and students, the vital role of the Arabic language in understanding Islamic sciences correctly and accessing primary sources in an accurate manner was emphasized.
In his speech, Dr. Muhammet Berat Can highlighted that Arabic is not merely a language of communication but an indispensable key for properly understanding the Qur’an, hadith, fiqh, tafsir, and other fundamental Islamic sources. He also discussed the methodology of Arabic language teaching, challenges encountered, and strategies that could help students use the language effectively.
At the end of the seminar, participants’ questions were answered, and the long-term positive impact of learning Arabic on academic research was underscored. The program concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative photo session.
