A seminar titled “The Virtues of Surah Yasin” was held

Within the framework of the Faculty’s social responsibility activities for 2026, a seminar titled “The Virtues of Surah Yasin” was held for women on February 5, 2026. The seminar was organized by KTMU Faculty of Theology staff member Camila Coraeva and female students. Dordoyeva Carkınay delivered a presentation on the topic.

During the seminar, it was noted that Surah Yasin is referred to as the heart of the Qur’an. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Qur’an is Yasin,” emphasizing its significance. In classical Islamic sources, describing this surah as “the heart of the Qur’an” indicates the centrality of its message and its conceptual depth. It was also stated that, according to tafsir literature, reciting Surah Yasin enhances an individual’s spiritual awareness and strengthens moral responsibility. In this respect, Surah Yasin was highlighted as an important chapter in the development of both personal religiosity and collective religious consciousness.

At the end of the seminar, refreshments were served to the participants. Approximately 100 women attended the event and followed it with great interest. Officials stated that the program will continue every Thursday at the same time.
