As part of the Faculty’s 2026 social responsibility activities, a seminar titled “The Meaning of Words and Movements in Prayer” was organized for university students on April 28, 2026, under the coordination of Faculty of Theology staff member Jamila Joraeva.
The seminar, presented by Carkınay Seyitbek Kızı, attracted significant student participation. During the program, it was emphasized that prayer (salah) is not merely a series of physical movements, but also carries deep spiritual and conscious dimensions.
The seminar provided detailed explanations of the meanings of the supplications recited during prayer and the significance of the movements performed. Particular attention was given to the symbolic meanings of essential acts such as ruku (bowing), sujud (prostration), and qiyam (standing). It was stated that these movements reflect humility, submission, and a servant’s consciousness before Allah. Participants were informed that prayer is not only a duty, but also an act of worship that strengthens one’s inner spiritual world.
At the end of the seminar, students’ questions were answered, and participants expressed that the program had been highly beneficial for them. The event was regarded as an important step toward increasing spiritual awareness.
