Award ceremony of the Quran and Hutba Competition at the Faculty of Theology

On April 27, 2026, the Faculty of Theology at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University hosted a comprehensive program dedicated to celebrating student achievements and honoring cultural values. Held in the faculty conference hall, the event provided participants with memorable moments through its rich agenda.

The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, creating a spiritual atmosphere for the audience. Following the opening, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Akyüz and Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakıt Murzuraimov delivered welcoming speeches. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of students’ moral and academic development and highlighted the value of such events within the faculty’s vision.

After the opening speeches, participants watched a short documentary about the condition of the Qur’an during the Soviet era and the sacrifices made to preserve faith and religious values during those difficult years. The documentary deeply moved the audience and was followed with great attention.

Following the documentary screening, the award ceremonies took place. First, awards were presented to students who ranked in the Khutbah Writing Competition, which aims to develop the ability to address society effectively on religious issues.

Afterward, students who distinguished themselves throughout the academic year not only through academic success but also through exemplary behavior, social responsibility, and contributions to faculty culture were invited to the stage and presented with “Student of the Year” awards.

The program also highlighted the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Certificates of appreciation were presented to students who actively participated in the International Traditional Games of Turkic Peoples program, organized to preserve common cultural values and strengthen solidarity among younger generations.

The event concluded with the announcement of the results of the Qur’an Recitation Competition. Students who demonstrated outstanding recitation in accordance with tajwid rules and maqam principles received their awards, creating one of the most exciting moments of the program.

The program ended with a commemorative group photograph featuring the award-winning students and faculty members.
