KTMU DORMITORY CONVERSATIONS: Assoc. Prof. PhD Yusuf GÖKALP
"KTMU Students Dormitory Conversations" series carried out by the faculty members of our faculty continues. On Tuesday evening of March 1, 2022 our faculty member Assoc. Prof. PhD Yusuf Gökalp made a presentation on "The Contribution of Islam to the Development of Science, Art and Philosophy".
Students from different faculties showed great interest to the conversation. Dean of our faculty Prof. PhD Kemal Polat also took part in the program as a listener. Yusuf Gökalp focused on the basic dynamics that shape Islamic thought and the value Islam attaches to reason, science and human beings. In the speech, in which studies, works and examples of scientists in the field of science, art and philosophy were given, the importance of Turkish-Islamic culture and civilization was emphasized, and the contribution of Islamic scholars, who grew up in the Central Asian Turkic world, to Islamic thought was mentioned. The program ended with the answers to students' questions.
