ACADEMIC SEMINARS OF THE FACULTY OF THEOLOGY (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf GÖKALP)
The second seminar within the "Faculty of Theology Academic Seminar Program" was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Gökalp on 07.03.2022. "Faculty of Theology Academic Seminar Program" was initiated Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat, and the first presentation was held by him on 01.03.2022. In the seminar of Gokalp titled "Sects in Islamic Thought with Political and Sociological Aspects," the place of political-theological sects in social life throughout its history was discussed. Stating that it is not enough to evaluate the sects only as a result of differentiation on belief, Gökalp also underlined that it would be more precise to understand the place of sects in social life through political, social, cultural and economic evaluations. The seminar, which was held with the participation of graduate students and lecturers, ended with a question and answer session.
