Greetings from the Dean
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University has continued its educational activities, which began in the 2008–2009 academic year, in line with contemporary scientific and professional approaches. Offering education in Turkish and Kyrgyz, our Faculty aims to contribute to the development of academic cooperation throughout the Turkestan region, particularly between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, and to educate qualified veterinarians equipped with strong professional knowledge and competencies.
Thanks to our modern animal hospital, teaching and research laboratories, and practical training infrastructure, our students reinforce their theoretical knowledge through clinical and field-based practice. Our educational philosophy is based on the principles of scientific thinking, evidence-based decision-making, professional ethics, and lifelong learning. Continuous improvement in educational quality and alignment with international veterinary education standards are also among our key priorities.
By embracing the increasingly important One Health approach, we attach great importance to the comprehensive protection of human, animal, and environmental health. Accordingly, we continue to develop our educational, research, and community engagement activities in areas such as animal welfare, zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and sustainable livestock farming. We also closely follow developments in digitalization, artificial intelligence, and innovative diagnostic technologies.
The Turkestan region also possesses a significant strategic advantage thanks to its extensive pasturelands, rich livestock-raising traditions, long-standing experience in sheep, goat, cattle, and horse breeding, and considerable regional production potential. As a Faculty, we believe that this substantial livestock potential can be advanced considerably through science, education, technology, and international cooperation.
The primary goal of our Faculty is to become a leading veterinary education and research institution that integrates education, research, and practical training, embraces international standards such as VEDEK/EAEVE, and develops scientific solutions to regional challenges. We highly value the contributions of our academic and administrative staff, students, graduates, and partner institutions in achieving this goal.
