On May 30, 2025, the Department of History hosted a seminar featuring two distinguished Iranian scholars, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fariba Mosapour Negari and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehdi Mortazavi. The event was attended by the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Aşık, as well as numerous academicians and students. In their presentations, the Iranian scholars shared fascinating insights into the fields of history and archaeology.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fariba Mosapour Negari delivered a presentation titled “Cultural Intertwining: Interactions Between Eastern Iran and Central Asia in the Bronze Age.” She discussed the historical and cultural connections between southeastern Iran and Central Asia, emphasizing the significance of the Balkh-Merv Culture, which is found exclusively in these regions. She highlighted archaeological findings such as tombs, social structures, ceramics, mirrors, and seals that indicate common cultural ties.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehdi Mortazavi presented his research under the title “Robahak-Dezak Saravan Archaeological Field Project: Evidence for the Existence of Seljuk Turkic Pottery in Iranian Balochistan.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehdi Mortazavi discussed the archaeological research and results in the Balochistan region in southeastern Iran. He shared images of Seljuk-era ceramics, mosques, and places of worship found in the region and drew attention to the fact that especially the excellent

They also conveyed their hopes for future collaboration with Manas University. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehdi Mortazavi expressed his gratitude to Dean Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Aşık and noted his delight at seeing similar archaeological artifacts in the KTMU Museum. The seminar concluded with the presentation of certificates to the distinguished guest scholars from Iran, in recognition of their valuable contributions.
