Rector Ceylan’s Guiding Talk for Preparatory Class Students

Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan met with preparatory class students. The program, held at the Congress and Culture Center in line with the university’s student-centered governance approach, provided an interactive environment where students could directly share their views and expectations. During the event, Rector Ceylan delivered important messages regarding students’ educational journeys.

The Importance of Renewal and the Search for Meaning in the Academic Journey Emphasized

Recalling Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi’s words, “Whatever belongs to yesterday has remained in yesterday…,” Prof. Dr. Ceylan defined university life as a continuous process of renewal and intellectual development. Drawing attention to KTMU’s trajectory of growth based on international academic standards, Prof. Dr. Ceylan stated that this process can be advanced further through students’ active participation and sense of responsibility. Referring to the verses of Yunus Emre, he highlighted the central role of empathy, solidarity, and ethical values in university life, emphasizing that self-awareness, and a sense of social responsibility are integral components of contemporary higher education.

“Shared Identity and Institutional Belonging Are Essential for Success”

Highlighting the theme of unity and togetherness, Rector Ceylan noted that Ismail Gaspıralı’s principle, “Unity in language, thought, and action,” remains relevant in today’s academic world. Describing the university community as a structure integrated around a shared system of values, he emphasized that a sense of institutional belonging is directly linked to academic success.

“Manas Students Possess Global Competitiveness”

Addressing the qualifications of KTMU students, Rector Alpaslan Ceylan stated that the university’s increasing academic visibility is strengthened by the disciplined efforts of its students. He also underlined the importance of ethical and character development alongside academic competence, noting that students should adopt a multidimensional perspective for their overall development.

Strong Infrastructure of Manas University at the Service of Students

Stating that he has adopted a student-oriented leadership approach during his tenure, Prof. Dr. Ceylan emphasized that KTMU’s modern laboratories, smart classrooms, digital libraries, and comprehensive social facilities support students’ holistic development. He also noted that the renewed sports facilities and living spaces enhance the campus experience and encouraged students to benefit from the Orhun Exchange Program, which offers international academic mobility opportunities.

A New Dormitory Project with a Capacity of 1,000 Announced

One of the highlights of the program was the announcement of a new dormitory investment. Rector Ceylan revealed that a modern female student dormitory with a capacity of 1,000 beds will be built on the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus. The announcement was met with great interest and satisfaction by the students. At the end of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan reiterated the message of unity and solidarity with the words, “Let us be united, strong, and resilient,” and emphasized that students should move forward with determination in their academic and personal development journeys.
