Young Chefs Cooking Competition Held with Great Excitement


A cooking competition titled “Young Chefs” was organized among the second-year students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of our Faculty. The participants were divided into small groups of 3–4 people and received a “black box” containing ingredients unknown to them in advance. The contestants were given five minutes to create a menu, followed by one hour to prepare a main course, salad, and dessert.

The jury consisted of well-known local and international chefs. The jury members included Berik Eginbaev, Head Chef of Kumtor Gold Company; Mustafa Yıldırımoğlu, Head Chef of Sheraton Bishkek Hotel; and Cahit Korkmaz, Head Chef of Novotel Bishkek City Center Hotel. The jury members highly appreciated the organization level of the competition and the professional skills demonstrated by the students.
