This week, as part of the Kyrgyz Cuisine course, students, under the guidance of instructor N. Turganbayeva, visited the ethno-restourant “Kumara” to learn about the rich culture, traditions, and culinary heritage of Kyrgyz hospitality. The excursion transported participants into the atmosphere of the past, accompanied by the aromas of national dishes and the sounds of Kyrgyz music, making it a true journey through time.
Upon entering the tea house, they were greeted by an interior filled with national character. Hand-painted murals, carpets with traditional patterns, ceramic dishes, and authentic decorative elements created a genuine sense of authenticity.
The students were welcomed by Erkin Aidarbekov, the founder and talented chef of “Kumara.” He is renowned for his passion for preserving and promoting Kyrgyz cuisine and culture. Erkin shared his journey into the culinary profession and explained how he creates unique gastronomic projects by combining traditional recipes with modern cooking techniques. He also gave a tour of the tea house’s kitchen, demonstrating its organization and explaining the rules and nuances of its workflow.
“This excursion not only expanded our knowledge of our nation’s traditions but also gave us emotional inspiration. The impressive atmosphere of the tea house showed how important it is to preserve cultural heritage,” shared one of the students.
The ethno-restourant “Kumara” is a place where everyone can experience the warmth of national hospitality. This excursion was not only educational but also inspiring, serving as a reminder of the importance of valuing traditions and passing them on to future generations.
