The results of this research is discussed at national and international conferences, is published in academic journals, and is used for teaching materials during lessons.
From 2012-2014, the Department of Travel Business and Tourism Guidance was the representative from KTMU for a project called “Education in the field of innovation and sustainable tourism in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Norway” (CPEA-2011/10017). Three students from the School of Tourism and Hotel Management were able to study at the Ecotourism program at Telemark University College in Norway. Three faculty members from the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, as well as the director of the School, were able to complete short trainings in Norway because of the program.
The Department of Travel Business and Tourism Guidance works closely with the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators, and Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is a full member of the association. The Department also works closely with companies such as Kyrgyz Concept, CBT Kyrgyzstan, Celestial Mountains, Supara Chunkurchak, Ashu, Ak-Sai Travel, NoviNomad, and the Zil and Chunkurchak ski bases. The Department is currently building a relationship with the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).
Students can take full advantage of the Mevlana Program, which allows students to study at universities in Turkey. Both students and faculty members can spend time at universities in Turkey or in other countries, with faculty members spending between two weeks and three months, and with students able to spend a semester or academic year abroad.
