Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism started education in 2002. Our department produced its first graduates in the 2005-2006 academic year. In total, as of the academic year 2020-2021, our department has graduated 371 students. From the academic year 2021-2022, 165 students from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and other Turkic republics/communities, and neighboring countries will continue their studies in our department.

Our department, with its technological infrastructure and proficient teaching staff, offers excellent conditions and opportunities for educating future experienced journalists who will be employed in all fields of traditional and new media.

The curriculum of our department is revised and updated by taking into account the developments in the world and the requirements in the sector to ensure that the professional knowledge and skills of our students are in line with the current conditions.

Theoretical and practical courses are taught in Turkish and Kyrgyz in our department. To enable our students to improve their knowledge and skills gained in theoretical and practical courses;

- GAZETE MANAS", a student application newspaper, is published. Our students participate in all processes involved in the newspaper, from news source to publication stage.

- Familiarization of students from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and other countries with the sector is ensured through activities such as seminars, training, and conferences conducted by famous and experienced communicators and journalists.

- As part of the practical courses, our students are prepared for national and international Olympiads. They have many national and international achievements.

- As a result of developing collaboration, our students are given the opportunity to take internships in important media organizations in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan.

Thus, our journalism graduates have advanced multifaceted positions in traditional and new media environments; page designer, editor, reporter, photojournalist; In private and public institutions, they can work as press secretaries, press consultants, social media specialists, and content managers.
