OUR PROFESSOR AND STUDENTS SHARED DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEWLY-CREATED KYRGYZ CORPUS
On December 10, 2021, a seminar on "Corpus Linguistics" was organized by the Department of Linguistics of the International University of Kyrgyzstan. The event was dedicated to the issues of constructing, processing, and application of corpus data in the English and Kyrgyz languages and linguistic researches. During the seminar Assoc. Prof. of Simultaneous Translation Department at the Faculty of Humanities of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Dr. Aida Kasieva and her students Ayzat Kadyrbekova and Nazika Kaparova shared detailed information about the newly-created Kyrgyz corpus and its processing. Additionally, another speaker of the seminar Professor of San Diego State University (USA) Dr. Zheng-sheng Zhang presented how collocation and style are analyzed through corpus data based on the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA).
