Seminar: Natural Language Processing (NLP) Technologies and Corpus Linguistics.
From September 18 to September 22, the Kyrgyz-Turkish "Manas" University, Department of Simultaneous Translation and Saar University in Germany (Üniversität des Saarlandes) jointly organized a workshop (seminar) called "Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Corpus Linguistics". The purpose of this seminar is to introduce the new Manas-UdS Kyrgyz corpus posted on the website https://cqpweb.manas.edu.kg/. During the workshop, Professor Elke Teich, computational linguist Jörg Knappen and Ph.D. Pauline Krielke from Saarland University shared their lectures and presentations on Natural Language processing and corpus linguistics, which are available at https://et-wiki.lst.uni-saarland.de/unserwiki/doku.php?id=corpus_tutorial:bishkek2023:generalinformation#certificate_of_attendance.
Among the participants of the seminar are the representatives from I.Razakov Technical University, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Isyk-Kul State University, I.Arabaev State University and the Kyrgyz National University.
Theoretical and practical activities were held at the seminar on technologies in modern linguistics and NLP processing. As a result of the seminar, 75 participants were awarded certificates.
As the final point of the activity and 4-year cooperation between the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Department of Simultaneous Translation and Saarland University (Üniversität des Saarlandes), an agreement on the Erasmus+ (mobility) exchange program was signed.
