Aidai Askarova, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Communication of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University has achieved great success at the international film festival. The documentary titled “My Thought” directed by Aidai Askarova won the “Best Documentary” award at the Four River Film Festival held in Croatia between September 12-16, 2023. Students from more than 15 countries, such as the USA, Germany, France, Korea, Ukraine participated in the festival, where a total of 31 films were screened.
Aidai Askarova's film explores carpet weaving in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. The documentary delves into the spiritual world of carpet weaving, the ancient art of nomads, and captivated viewers with its patterns and artistic aspects that embellish the beliefs and thoughts of nomads.
This is not Aidai Askarova's first success in the film world. Our student Aidai Askarova was awarded the special jury prize and the “Best Documentary” award as the producer of the short documentary film titled “My Thought” at the 10th International Documentary Film Festival held in Lerapetra, Greece, between August 6-20, 2023.
