Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament Gombojav Zandanshatar at Manas University

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University hosted a seminar on the "Historic Pathway through Altai," organized by the Central Asian Research Center and the Embassy of Mongolia in Bishkek. The seminar took place on February 28, 2024, at the KTMU Rectorate Conference Hall.

Before the seminar, Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament, Gombojav Zandanshatar visited KTMU Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan. During the visit, Gombojav Zandanshatar expressed his satisfaction with the education of Mongolian students at Manas University and emphasized that it is a great opportunity for them to receive education at this prestigious university.

The seminar was attended by Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament Gombojav Zandanshatar, Ambassador of Mongolia in Bishkek Gankhuyag Sodnom, Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Oktay Ozgul, many academicians and students.

KTMU Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova emphasized the importance of the event and stated that the seminar titled "Historic Pathway through Altai" would make a great scientific and cultural contribution. Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova said, "We are very pleased that young people from brotherly Mongolia prefer our University and learn Kyrgyz, Turkish, English and Russian."

In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized the strategic position of Mongolia in Central Asia and drew attention to the historical friendship between the two countries. Rector Ceylan stated, "Our relations with Mongolia date back to the Orkhon Inscriptions, one of the most profound documents of Turkish history. Mongolia is also a valuable partner and a close friend of the Organization of Turkic World States." Prof. Dr. Ceylan expressed confidence that scientific and cultural relations between Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye-Mongolia would further develop based on their university.

Prof. Dr. Nasuh Uslu, President of KTMU Central Asian Research Center, provided detailed information about the activities of ORASAM and mentioned the internship opportunities offered to students.

The keynote speaker of the seminar, Gombojav Zandanshatar, Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia, expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan for the opportunity to share their common history, culture, and language heritage at the beginning of his speech.

In his seminar titled "Historic Pathway through Altai," Zandanshatar emphasized the importance of close history, linguistic, and cultural ties in a globalized world and made remarks on the Manas Epic. He stated, "The Manas Epic is a classic focal point of the Kyrgyz language, history, and culture. This work historically proves the ties with neighboring peoples. In addition, the Manas Epic contains rich evidence of Mongol-Kyrgyz historical ties." At the end of the seminar, Zandanshatar answered students' questions and thanked the participants.
