On May 27, 2024, the Department of Food Engineering of Manas University organized the seminar as part of the spring semester activities for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Professor Emeritus at the French Ministry of Agriculture Eric Dufour participated as a speaker in the seminar titled “Regional Development in France: French and European Bioeconomy and the Impacts of Circular Economy Policies”.
During the seminar, Professor Emeritus Eric Dufour highlighted the increasing importance of the link between rural and urban areas. He emphasized that government policies now focus on the circular economy, with the main objective being the reuse of waste seed and the extraction of processed seed for further use.
“We believe that through the circular economy, we can achieve a carbon-free economy or reduce fossil energy usage,” stated Professor Emeritus Eric Dufour, underlining the significance of integrating this approach with the bioeconomy.
The seminar also discussed how considering the circular economy and bioeconomy together can help achieve sustainable development goals and maintain environmental and economic balance.
At the end of the seminar, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to Professor Emeritus Eric Dufour and gain a deeper understanding of the subject.
