Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) has prepared a comprehensive program of events throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, ranging from social solidarity to culture and arts, and from academic content to media broadcasting. Through activities both on campus and aimed at various segments of society, the university will carry the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan into every field of life.

30 Days of Ramadan on Radio and Television

Throughout Ramadan, KTMU will meet its audience daily through Manas Radio and Manas TV.

The radio program titled “Towards Iftar” will begin on February 19 and continue until March 5, featuring distinguished academicians who are experts in their respective fields. The programs will address numerous religious, social, and contemporary topics, including “The Virtue of Fasting,” “The Importance of Waqf Institutions in Islamic Civilization,” “The Impact of Ramadan on the Global Economy,” “Ramadan and Sports,” “The Effects of Fasting on Emotional Regulation and Psychological Resilience,” and “Fasting and Digital Age: Between Patience, Speed, and Algorithms.”

On Manas Television, special Ramadan broadcasts will air from February 19 to March 20. In addition to programs introducing Kyrgyz and Turkish culinary traditions, daily content featuring various topics and guests will cover themes such as “The Significance of Ramadan,” “Morality of the Qur’an,” “Laylat al-Qadr,” “The Teachings of Ahmad Yasawi,” and “Consciousness of Eid.”

Culture and Arts Events

KTMU will not limit its Ramadan activities to talks and broadcasts but will also allocate significant space to cultural and artistic programs. Within the scope of the “Ramadan Culture and Arts Programs,” events such as an open-air Sufi Music Concert, the Ortekе traditional game performance, a hymn recital, a theatrical performance, and a Turkish Folk Music Concert will be organized, aiming to unite the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan with the aesthetic language of art.

Social Responsibility Initiatives

Within the framework of the “Ramadan Social Responsibility Programs,” the university will also carry out activities designed to strengthen social solidarity. Alongside Ramadan panels, Qur’an recitation (mukabele) programs, women-only Qur’an courses, and Laylat al-Qadr programs, Ramadan food packages will be distributed to those in need.

Free Iftar for Students Every Day

In addition to iftar events organized in Turkish and Kyrgyz, all students will be provided with free iftar meals every day. Furthermore, road-side iftar organizations, as well as iftar programs for orphaned children and residents of nursing homes, will be arranged to extend the spirit of sharing and solidarity beyond the campus.

Building Bridges of Compassion Through Visits

As part of the “Ramadan Visits,” visits will be made to madrasas, the Arasan Faculty of Theology, the Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish business associations, orphanages, and nursing homes. Through these visits, the university aims to reinforce its sense of social responsibility and strengthen inter-institutional solidarity.
