Manas University Successfully Completes Preliminary Accreditation Evaluation

At Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, the preliminary evaluation phase of the institutional accreditation and independent accreditation of academic programs, conducted by the Agency for Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations (AAEPO), has been successfully completed. Following two days of on-site reviews and meetings, the preliminary evaluation report was presented at a closing session held at the university. As part of the institutional accreditation process, carried out for the first time at the university, academic programs, quality assurance practices, and institutional operations were comprehensively examined.

Academic Programs and Institutional Structure Reviewed Over Two Days

Within the scope of the accreditation activities, 4 doctoral programs, 1 master’s program, 1 faculty, and 2 high school of vocational education programs were evaluated in detail. Throughout the process, interviews were conducted with graduates, students, parents, academic and administrative staff, and employer representatives. Based on these interviews and feedback, the university’s educational activities, institutional capacity, and quality processes were assessed from a multidimensional perspective.

Preliminary Findings Presented at the Closing Meeting

Following the completion of accreditation sessions, a closing meeting was held at the Rectorate Conference Hall. During the meeting, the preliminary evaluation report, prepared by the commission chairs and expert panel was presented, and the findings, observations, and overall assessments from the two-day review process were shared.

AAEPO President Highlights the University’s Institutional Capacity

In his remarks at the closing meeting, AAEPO President Prof. Dr. Baktybek Ismailov emphasized that Manas University stands out as a higher education institution with strong infrastructure, advanced technical equipment, and robust academic opportunities. He noted that the university’s physical facilities, learning environments, and academic structure hold significant potential in terms of quality assurance, adding that the preliminary evaluation process would help make areas for development more visible.

International Visibility and Quality Processes Evaluated Together

AAEPO President Prof. Dr.  Ismailov also highlighted the university’s growing visibility in international rankings as a noteworthy factor in its institutional development. He stated that the steps taken by the university in recent years to enhance its global presence should be evaluated alongside its quality-oriented management approach. In this context, it was emphasized that the accreditation process is not merely an assessment of the university’s current status but also a developmental tool that will strengthen its future academic and institutional direction.

Rector Ceylan: “We Are Working Toward Greater Goals”

Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan stated that the accreditation process is crucial not only for evaluating the current academic structure but also for shaping the university’s future institutional vision. He emphasized that the evaluations, findings, and recommendations of the accreditation panel are highly valuable, describing the process as an important roadmap that reveals the university’s strengths while clarifying areas open to improvement.

Rector Ceylan also underlined that one of the key indicators of quality assurance in higher education is the ability to offer qualified and sustainable programs that respond to the needs of the time. In this regard, he drew attention to the university’s academic growth strategy, noting that programs in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity—considered among today’s and the future’s priority fields—have recently been integrated into the academic structure. He added that the establishment of these programs demonstrates the university’s capacity to adapt to evolving global needs and its innovative academic approach, and that both programs were launched with the approval of the Board of Trustees following the necessary academic preparations.

Highlighting the accelerating pace of digital transformation, Prof. Dr. Ceylan noted that artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are not only technical fields but also strategically important for social, economic, and institutional sustainability. He described this initiative as a concrete reflection of the university’s quality-oriented development vision.

Deputy Rector Prof.Dr. Ibraev: “The Accreditation Process Strengthens Institutional Quality”

Deputy Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev stated that the institutional accreditation and independent evaluation process of academic programs represents a significant stage in the university’s quality assurance policies. He emphasized that accreditation efforts go beyond evaluating the existing academic and administrative structure, serving as a strategic mechanism for improving educational quality, strengthening institutional operations, and enhancing the university’s visibility at both national and international levels. Prof.Dr. Ibraev also highlighted that the university’s academic expertise, institutional experience, and quality-oriented management approach make a valuable contribution to this process, and he expressed his gratitude to the academic and administrative staff involved.

Evaluation Meeting Following the Process

As part of the program, the AAEPO delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan. During the meeting, the two-day accreditation activities, initial findings, and the overall framework of the evaluation process were discussed. While the delegation members shared their observations regarding the quality of academic programs, academic standards, and the university’s institutional structure, the university administration reiterated its commitment to continuous quality improvement.
