The 3rd International Congress on Biological and Health Sciences (ICBH) was held.


ICBH congress was held online on 14-15-16 April 2023, hosted by Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University and Afyon Kocatepe University. More than 200 oral and poster presentations were presented at the congress, where the scientific committee was supported by more than 300 scientists from 45 countries. 27 world-renowned invited speakers from 15 countries made presentations in their fields. In the opening speeches of the congress, Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye Manas University Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan started his speech by emphasizing the importance of the Third International Biology and Health Sciences Congress. He stated that this congress is important in terms of work to be done for humanity and nature. He thanked the 300 scientists who supported the congress scientific committee and stated that Manas University considers it a duty to contribute to the congress this year. He thanked the faculty members who participated in the congress and stated that other organizations also made important contributions to the congress. Referring to the words of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, "There is no reputable object among the people, like the state, and the state is like a breath of fresh air in the world", he wished the congress to be successful. Afyon Kocatepe University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Pointing out that scientists from different disciplines and countries will make presentations at the congress, Şuayip Özdemir emphasized that the knowledge produced by scientists is the work left to future generations. He stated that interdisciplinary studies are important and emphasized that this congress provides an important platform for the formation of new collaborations between academics that will benefit humanity. Pakistan, Lahore University of Education Rector Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha underlined the need for many disciplines to cooperate at local, national and international levels in a single health field. He emphasized that this congress, which will be held with a very comprehensive participation, will bring a new vision and perspective to the participants in this field. FAO Deputy Representative for Türkiye Dr. Ayşegül Selışık stated that the single health approach covers important issues such as food and water safety, environmental pollution and antimicrobial resistance control. Collaboration between universities, researchers, and relevant institutions and organizations was not necessary for a one-health approach. He noted that a one-health approach is important in predicting, preventing, detecting and controlling diseases that spread between animals and humans, ensuring food safety and protecting animal, plant and environmental health. He stated that FAO designs and implements programs to support One Health strategies and capacities at the national and international level. He emphasized that this approach contributes to the sustainable development goals and protection of biodiversity. In order to emphasize the importance of the one health approach, some statistics gave examples on the data. For example, he stated that 60% of all human infectious diseases are of animal origin and the estimated cost of the COVID-19 pandemic is $8-16 trillion. He emphasized the importance of collective work and effective coordination for the success of the one health approach. Afyon Kocatepe University, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Turan Civelek stated the importance of the concept of One Health in raising awareness about the epidemiology of diseases and improving the quality of life of societies. He emphasized that One Health is important in developing preventive strategies for diseases. At the closing of the congress, the chairman of the congress Assoc. Dr. Ulaş Acaröz stated that they brought together different disciplines working in the field of health with the Biology and Health Sciences Congress, which was held for the third time, and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary studies in developing innovative approaches in this field.
