Career Day II at KTMU Faculty of Tourism: Youth Meet the Industry and Prepare for the Future

The Faculty of Tourism of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University hosted the “Career Day II” event, bringing students together with leading representatives of the tourism industry. The event, attended by distinguished hotels, tourism enterprises, food and beverage brands, and travel agencies from Kyrgyzstan, served as an important platform guiding students in their professional journeys.

The event was attended by Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Nurudin Kydyraliev, academic staff, and a large number of students. In addition, prominent industry representatives such as Abstract Restobar, Supara, Supara Chunkurchak, Mayram Group, Apple Hostel, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Novotel Hotel, Raduga+, Ak-Keme Hotel, Khan-Tengri Hotel, Kapriz Issyk-Kul, Ololo AkJol, Ololo Coworking Center, Silk Way Travel, Kyrgyz Tourism, Ruh Ordo Cholpon-Ata, Kettik.kg, Kyrgyz Concept, KATOS, and Ak Sai Travel participated in the event.

Aiming to directly contribute to students career planning, particularly their mandatory internship processes, the event strengthened the interaction between academia and the business world. While participating companies provided information about the opportunities they offer and their expectations, students had the opportunity to introduce themselves through one-on-one meetings with industry representatives.

Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev: “We Must Make Effective Use of Our Tourism Potential”

KTMU Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s tourism potential, noting that the country places great importance on and is increasingly focusing on the tourism sector. Highlighting Kyrgyzstan’s richness in natural beauty, Prof. Dr. Ibraev stated: “Our country, with its clean air, water resources, mountains, lakes, forests, and vast and unique highlands such as Suusamyr and Aksay, is truly like a paradise. However, we must utilize this potential effectively.”

Prof. Dr. Ibraev stressed that one of the most important elements in higher education is the integration of theory and practice, underlining the importance of students staying connected to practical applications throughout their education. He also noted that, through the university’s Career Center, partnerships have been established with more than 13,000 companies, aiming to ensure that graduates adapt quickly to professional life.

Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Nurudin Kydyraliev highlighted the importance of career days for students, stating that such events are not only gatherings but also processes of learning and self-discovery. He emphasized that internships enable students to observe industry expectations firsthand, helping them define their career goals more consciously.

Industry representatives also expressed their satisfaction with the long-standing collaborations with KTMU, emphasizing the university’s role in training qualified human resources. They noted that working with Manas University's students holds special value for them and that this cooperation continues to grow stronger each year.

Throughout the event, one-on-one meetings provided students with the opportunity to take concrete steps in their career journeys. Participating companies shared detailed information about internship and job opportunities, while students had the opportunity to directly present their professional competencies to potential employers.
