Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) hosted a seminar titled “National Spirit - Global Summit” for academic and administrative staff. Jointly organized by the Continuing Education Center and the Faculty of Communication, the seminar addressed the objectives set forth in the vision document issued by the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as strategies for incorporating these targets into the university’s educational, research, and community service activities.
The presentation was delivered in the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall by Associate Professor Dr. Gulzada Stanalieva, a faculty member of the Faculty of Communication. The program included recommendations on curriculum enhancement, the development of bilingual instructional materials, and the evaluation of outcomes based on concrete metrics.
Emphasis Placed on the Synergy Between National Heritage and Scientific Advancement
Dr. Stanalieva stated that the “National Spirit – Global Summit” vision document aims to establish a meaningful connection between Kyrgyzstan’s historical lineage and cultural values and contemporary science, high-quality education, and innovative methodologies. She emphasized that preserving national identity and remaining open to global developments should be viewed as mutually reinforcing objectives.
The presentation highlighted key principles such as adherence to the constitutional order, preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage, commitment to the public interest, and respect for diverse cultures. It also examined how the approaches defined across various domains—including education, science, culture, environment, economy, official language, social relations, sports, and religion-relate to the institutional responsibilities of educational entities.
Enhancement of KTMU’s Initiatives Through Concrete Deliverables Recommended
Addressing the alignment between the targets of the vision document and KTMU’s founding mission and educational philosophy, Dr. Stanalieva underscored the importance of keeping the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world alive, advancing education in accordance with international standards, and promoting the use of Kyrgyz and Turkish in academic life.
Noting that faculties and vocational schools can align their teaching, research, and public engagement initiatives with these objectives, Stanalieva stressed the necessity for each unit to implement practical applications tailored to its specific field of expertise. She added that the contributions of these efforts to student development, scholarly production, and societal needs must be clearly demonstrated with tangible outputs.
Proposals Offered for Course Curricula and Bilingual Materials
During the seminar, strategies were presented for integrating the themes outlined in the vision document with the learning outcomes and objectives of relevant courses. It was noted that academic staff could incorporate one or two specialized topics along with supporting practical coursework into their syllabi.
Attention was drawn to instructional methods that enhance students' capacity to analyze data, compare differing perspectives, and conduct evidence-based evaluations. Within this framework, it was suggested that the document’s goals be explored through research- and discussion-based student activities.
To support the usage of Kyrgyz in scientific and academic contexts, the compilation of Kyrgyz-Turkish terminological dictionaries and bilingual learning materials was also brought to the agenda. It was expressed that such efforts would contribute to the development of discipline-specific scientific terminology and enable students to utilize academic resources in both languages effectively.
Quality of Work Highlighted in Monitoring and Evaluation Processes
The monitoring and assessment of activities conducted under the vision document were also addressed during the event. It was emphasized that periodic reports submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation should focus not merely on quantitative activity metrics, but also highlight the qualitative standard of the work, the results achieved, and its direct impact on educational processes.
Underlining the importance of embedding these objectives into the day-to-day operations of the institution, Dr. Stanalieva invited academic and administrative staff to formulate actionable proposals within their respective domains. The seminar concluded with a shared reflection on the collective responsibilities involved in raising a young generation that recognizes its national values, possesses strong scientific thinking skills, and effectively tracks international developments.
