History is the science of studying humankind's past. The main goals of studying history are to objectively and completely illuminate the past, to evaluate it correctly, to analyze past events (cultural, political, and more), to establish connections between different aspects of the historical process, and to create lessons for the future.
The Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities was created in 1997. The Department features Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate programs. The results of scientific research of our faculty members have been published in individual and collective monographs, as well as in several international scientific projects.
The goals and objectives of the Bachelor's program are mainly to prepare professionals and historians that are well-rounded and have basic academic knowledge of the history of Kyrgyzstan and of Turkic peoples.

Department of History is recognized as one of the first established departments of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The main goal of our department is to provide in-depth education and train strong professionals who meet demands of present-day realms. Moreover, we pursue the goal to train specialists with mature vision who can build successful future career. The department of History is provided with sufficient conditions to achieve the set goals. Therefore, we have professional academic teaching staff known for their field related scientific research and publications. Along with the Bachelor’s program, currently there are Master’s and PhD programmes in our department, as well. Our doors are always open to students ready to submerge into the World of Science.
