THE TRANSLATOR OF THE FUTURE: CHALLENGES, TECHNOLOGY AND RESPONSIBILITY
On April 17, 2026, the Department of Simultaneous Interpreting organized an interuniversity student forum titled “The Translator of the Future: Challenges, Technology and Responsibility.” The forum was attended by students of the Department of Turkology and Translation Studies of the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology at Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University and students of the Kyrgyz–Turkish, Russian–Turkish, and English–Kyrgyz programs of the Department of Simultaneous Interpreting.
During the forum, students exchanged views on questions such as: “What will the future of the translation profession be like?”, “What do the future and the present call us to do?”, “What should our direction be?” and “How should we prepare for the future?”
The event aimed to develop students’ skills in pragmatic thinking within their profession, effective communication with the public, and the ability to build dialogue.
