SEMINAR ON PARALLEL CORPORA IN TRANSLATION HELD AT KYRGYZ-TURKISH MANAS UNIVERSITY
A seminar focusing on translation technologies and methods for building parallel corpora was held on April 29, 2026, at the Department of Translations, Faculty of Humanities.
During the seminar, Dr. Döölötbek Eshkenov thoroughly discussed the processes of working with parallel texts and provided a detailed introduction to the use of the software AntPConc. In addition, the functionalities of LF Aligner for text alignment were demonstrated through practical examples. Participants were also provided with practical tips for efficient text processing using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
The seminar emphasized the importance of building parallel corpora for low-resource Turkic languages and highlighted the contribution of such efforts to machine translation and language technologies. Participants had the opportunity not only to learn theoretical concepts but also to directly experience practical techniques.
