About the Faculty

The Faculty of Sciences was founded in 2008 and consists of three departments: Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Mathematics and Biology. The departments of biology and mathematics provide 3-level education. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the department has 19 full-time, 8 half-time and 9 part-time teachers teaching 336 students. In addition, teachers conduct courses in biology, mathematics, statistics and physics for other departments of the university.

The process of admitting students to the faculty is carried out on the basis of the results of the “Entrance Exam for Students” of the Center for Selection and Placement of Students at Manas University, as well as the results of nationwide testing conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The faculty has laboratories of histology/morphology, biochemistry and biotechnology, equipped with modern scientific equipment, where students can conduct experimental work, and teachers can carry out scientific research. Conditions have been created for joint projects with other faculties of our university and international universities. The Biology department employs 3 full-time professors, 2 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 1 specialist and 1 research assistant.

The faculty also has a modern physics laboratory. The Department of Mathematics employs 1 full-time professor, 2 associate professors, 1 assistant professor and 1 specialist.

There are 3 full-time professors, 1 associate professor, 1 assistant professor and 1 specialist actively working in the department of Applied mathematics and Informatics. There is also a computer laboratory with 20 seats, belonging to the departments of Mathematics and Applied mathematics and Informatics.
