Education

Our department at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, one of the leading places of education and research in various fields of life sciences in Kyrgyzstan, offers an undergraduate program starting from general basic courses to gradually move on to more complex special subjects in the fields of zoology, botany, cytology, histology, anatomy, human and animal physiology, physiology of complex neural system, genetics and genetic engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology, immunology and endocrinology and environmental protection and carry out a thesis on one of the above-mentioned disciplines of biology at the end four year education. This well-designed education addresses career plans and personal research interests for students.

Where Biologists Work

Graduates from our department can participate in academic researches in universities or institutions as scientists in the areas of biology or can find jobs at laboratories of private or state hospitals, universities, Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Health, or industry related with the medicine and food. Also, they can find career opportunities in the other fields dealing with health and environment problems, nutrition and education as well as they can find positions for themselves in national parks, reserves, zoos, botanical gardens, forestry, etc.

History

The Department of Biology was established in the 2007-2008 academic year as one of the three departments of Faculty of Science at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University for conducting national and international research and preparing well-educated, creative students in the biology field. Currently, the best qualified academics from Turkey and Kyrgyzstan work in the department. 

Our department started accepting undergraduate and graduate students in the 2007-2008 and 2014-2015 academic years, respectively. Currently, the department has highly qualified scientists in various fields of biology and undergraduate and graduate students taking international education programs.

Goals of the Department

The mission of our department is to offer the best possible education and practical training for raising well-educated, highly qualified persons having capable of systematic and strategic thinking, possessing deep knowledge and the skills to solve specific problems in the field of biology.

The degrees from Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University are protected by Kyrgyz and Turkish law.
