Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Boobek Ajikeev visited Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

Minister Boobek Ajikeev was welcomed by Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and Deputy Rector Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova at the Senate.

Minister Ajikeev's delegation included First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Azamat Mambetov, Advisor to the Minister Azat Botaliev, Head of the Medical Department of the Ministry Aiperi Ernstova, Deputy Chief Physician of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital Talantbek Batıraliev, Captain Irısbek Coldoshbaev, Senior Lieutenant Temirlan Jumamudunov, Specialist Chavush Chyngyz Jumanekov and the team involved in search and rescue activities in Turkey. A dog used in search and rescue operations was also brought to the university.

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said, “11 of our provinces were destroyed in the earthquake in Turkey. The first team to mobilize for help were our Kyrgyz brothers. They showed the best example of fraternity. The rescue of a pregnant earthquake victim from the rubble by our Kyrgyz brothers brought tears to everyone's eyes in Turkey. Our brothers provided invaluable services. Our President Sadyr Japarov, our Minister and all our Kyrgyz brothers felt and shared our pain. All members of our Manas University, which is the joint institution of the two countries, were very proud of the invaluable assistance of our brothers.”

Deputy Rector Dr. Kalambekova also stated that the Kyrgyz people are proud of the search and rescue team who worked devotedly by coming to Turkey's aid in the most difficult times and that it is a great honor to host Minister Ajikeev and the search/rescue team at the University.

Rector Ceylan presented the medal of the University to Minister Ajikeev for his unforgettable contribution to Turkey. Certificates of appreciation were also given to the team involved in search and rescue activities.

After the meeting, Minister Ajikeev visited MEDIAMANAS and participated in the joint live broadcast of Manas Television and Manas Radio.

Minister of Emergency Situations said, “Brotherly Turkey has experienced a great disaster. We immediately rushed to help with the instructions of our President Sadyr Japarov. First, we sent a team of 67 people; but when we saw the situation there, we organized a new team, including doctors and psychologists. Our mobile hospital and technical staff still continue to serve our brothers. Then we sent Kyrgyz tents to contribute to the solution of the housing problems of the earthquake victims. We convey our condolences and patience to our brothers and sisters who have experienced the disaster of our century. We believe that Turkey will come out of this disaster stronger. The countries of the Turkic World, which came to the aid of our brotherly country Turkey at the first moment, will be more united now more than ever.”

Expressing his thoughts on Manas University, Minister Boobek Ajikeev said, “I came to Manas University for the first time. I saw that everything here is done with love and great professionalism. This is evident from the quality of your graduates. We also work with your graduates in our Ministry and benefit a lot from them. Manas University, with all its activities, both contributes to the development of our country and educates our young people in the best way. We highly value that.”
