A special panel event was organized at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University as part of the “World Tourism Day Events” on the ocassion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. This event took place on September 27, 2023 at the Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall and placed a spotlight on the tourism relations and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The event commenced with the opening of the exhibition titled “Turkey through the Eyes of Kyrgyz Journalists.” The exhibition featured a collection of photographs captured by Kyrgyz journalists, showcasing the tourist attractions and cultural richness of Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Yasin Boylu, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Manas University, emphasized the unique nature of the tourism sector as a meeting point for diverse cultures. Kiyal Kenzhematova, the Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic highlighted the global significance of tourism and addressed the students, emphasizing the privilege of studying at such a prestigious university. She encouraged the students to consider themselves future leaders in the tourism sector, capable of contributing to its growth, and wished them continued success.
Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, expressed his profound joy at being part of the Manas University community, a unique gem within the Turkic World. Rector Alpaslan Ceylan also underscored the paramount significance of endeavors in the tourism sector, affirming that, as a university, they are resolute in taking the necessary measures in this regard. Simultaneously, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan expressed their ambition to showcase Kyrgyzstan's remarkable tourism potential to the global stage. Rector Ceylan elaborated on the initiatives they are formulating to foster tourism development in Kyrgyzstan, expressing unwavering belief that Kyrgyzstan is poised to emerge as a pivotal destination in Central Asia's tourism landscape. As a pleasant surprise, he announced that the papers presented during today's panel will be compiled into a book. Rector Ceylan, emphasizing the panel's significance, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all contributors. Concluding his address, he invoked the timeless wisdom of Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli: “Let's unite, let's stand together, let's thrive” and extended his best wishes for success to all panel participants.
