On October 13-14, TURKSOY held its 40th Term Meeting in the historic city of Shusha, located in Azerbaijan. During this meeting, a significant decision was made to announce Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, the recipient of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, as the Cultural Ambassador of the Turkic World for the year 2024.
During visit to Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University on April 20, 2018, Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar delivered an inspiring conference on the topic of “Science and National Development.” He shared motivational words with the youth of the Turkic World, emphasizing the importance of hard work in achieving success. His message was clear: success requires dedication and perseverance, and there are no shortcuts. He also highlighted the role of education, stating that Manas University serves as a gateway to success. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar reflected on his own experiences as a student, recounting that he used to work seven days a week, often for 18 hours a day. He expressed his happiness in serving as an example for the aspiring scientists and students who aim to make a difference in their respective fields.
