23rd Graduation Ceremony

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University proudly celebrated the 23rd graduation ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year. The graduation ceremony, held on June 25, 2024, at the Chyngyz Aytmatov Campus Open-Air Sports Field, was filled with memorable moments.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Manas University`s Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Almaz İbraev; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezai Turk and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov; General Secretary, Prof. Dr. Oktay Ozgul; Turkish Ambassador to Bishkek Ahmet Sadyk Dogan; Pakistani Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigam; representatives from the embassies of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Iran; 27th Term Deputy Metin Yavuz; representatives from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs; university rectors and vice rectors; Manas University's academic and administrative staff; media representatives; and the families of the students.

The ceremony commenced with the procession of the 2023-2024 graduates and the national anthems of the two brotherly countries, followed by opening speeches.

“Today is the Day to Fly Out of the Nest”

Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Almaz İbraev, said in his opening speech to the graduates: “I want to tell today's graduates that they are very fortunate because they are graduating from a special university. Today is truly a historic day, as Manas University prepares thousands of experts who will contribute to the future of Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye. You will definitely see the fruits of your labor. Never forget Manas University, which supports you wholeheartedly in spreading your wings and flying! Never forget your teachers who educated you! Most importantly, be individuals with a sense of propriety and conscience! Dear graduates, may your future be bright and your path clear!”

“Don't Think Nature Changes! That Spirit is Always the Same Spirit”

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized, “You are the children of a nation and culture that has endured through the ages. You represent the youth of the Turkish nation, which has made significant contributions to human heritage worldwide. Don't think nature changes! That spirit is everlasting. It is the spirit of Manas, symbolizing heroism and freedom; it is Fatih, who conquered Istanbul at the age of 21; it is the pioneers of the world's scientific heritage like Ibn Sina, Yusuf Balasaguni, Farabi, and Ahmed Yesevi. It is Aziz Sancar and Chyngyz Aitmatov, their rightful heirs.”

Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan expressed gratitude to all the academics who played a significant role in training the graduates and in establishing Manas University as a distinguished institution, stating, “You are among the key architects of this momentous day. You have become role models they will look up to throughout their lives.” Concluding his speech, he added, “You are the grandchildren of Manas. I wish you courage, and I hope you all lead healthy, happy, and successful lives from now on. May your path and fortune be clear!” 

Turkish Ambassador to Bishkek, Ahmet Sadyk Dogan also congratulated all the graduates in his address, advising, “Do not hesitate to take risks in life, do not give up in the face of difficulties, and do not tire of hard work. Let your words and essence be one.” Ambassador Ahmet Sadyk Dogan wished them success in their future endeavors.

Later in the ceremony, the Kyrgyz folk dance “Kara Jorgo,” performed by KTMU graduates, received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Success in Education, Hope for the Future

After the opening speeches, the ceremony continued with new graduates taking an oath, creating an atmosphere of great enthusiasm. The youth who successfully completed their education at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, which has four stars in the QS Stars International University Ratings, experienced the excitement and joy of graduating on this meaningful day. The graduates shared their excitement for the future and embarked on new beginnings with those attending the ceremony.

Awarding Our Top Students

Initially, the top students from each faculty and high school were invited to the stage and awarded for their achievements. Later, the names of the university's top graduates were announced. Begaiym Kurmanbekova from the Department of Journalism, with a GPA of 3.93, came in third. Alina Colchueva from the Department of Philology of the Russian Language and Literature Program, with a GPA of 3.97, came in second. Aiman Kenjetaeva from the Department of Philology of the English Language and Literature Program, with a GPA of 3.99, took first place.

The university's top graduate, Aiman Kenjetaeva hammered her name plaque onto the traditional graduation log, expressing her gratitude to everyone. Aiman Kenjetaeva's father also expressed pride in his daughter's success, thanking Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and the entire university community.

The top graduates stated that with the quality education they received, they would make significant contributions both to their own countries and internationally.

A special guest at the ceremony, Toktobubu Apsatar kyzy evoked emotional moments on stage. A lifelong student of Manas University, Toktobubu Apsatar kyzy received great interest from those attending the ceremony.

Following the award ceremony, Kyrgyz artists Gulzada Ryskulova, Elzar Oskonbaeva, and Syrga Sagynbekova, along with Turkish World Artist İrfan Gurdal and Urmat Tokombaev, accompanied by the Turkish World Music Orchestra, gave an unforgettable musical feast to the guests. The event, organized with traditional Kyrgyz and Turkish music, provided the graduates and guests an opportunity to experience both cultural heritage and the excitement of graduation to the fullest. The ceremony, accompanied by music and dance, turned into a night where graduates and their families created unforgettable memories.

“My Effort; For My Country, For My People!”

The 23rd cohort of graduates threw their caps into the air with the words “My effort is for my country, for my people!” Their excitement was accompanied by fireworks illuminating the sky. The caps rising under the glow of fireworks symbolized the graduates hopeful future, creating emotional moments in the ceremony area. After the official ceremony, the graduates enjoyed a concert featuring famous artists, celebrating to their hearts' content.

This special night once again highlighted the academic success and cultural richness of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
