Ebru Art and Turkish Folk Songs Unite the Turkic World

On November 29, 2024, an Ebru Exhibition on the “Common Turkic Alphabet” and a concert of Turkish Folk Songs were held at the Congress and Culture Center of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The event featured the participation of Ebru artist Hikmet Barutçugil.

The program was organized in collaboration with Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian Vocational High School for Girls and Bağcılar Hikmet Barutçugil Fine Arts High School. Attendees included Manas University’s Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Recai Doğan, Educational Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bishkek Kürşat Dulkadir, Ebru artist Hikmet Barutçugil, Director of Bağcılar Hikmet Barutçugil Fine Arts High School Murat Açıkalın, Director of Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian Vocational High School for Girls Mustafa Oğuz, and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Manas University, Prof. Dr. Kürşad Gülbeyaz, along with academicians and students.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Recai Doğan emphasized the significance of marbling art and said, “This event is an important step toward highlighting the unity of the Turkic World. We are a people sharing the same history, and in this context, language and our common alphabet are crucial. Once again, we see that our goals are united.” Prof. Dr. Doğan also emphasized that the university is always committed to supporting such events.

“Art is a Universal Value that Transcends Borders”

Ebru artist Hikmet Barutçugil began his speech by thanking the event's organizers. He highlighted the universal value of art, stating, “Art encompasses infinite beauty, aesthetics, and the elegance of colors. Moreover, there are no borders in art—language, race, and profession do not matter. Art reaches every human being, and we must expand our efforts and strengthen unity for the future.”

In his speech, Educational Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bishkek Kürşat Dulkadir, expressed the aim to contribute to the Turkish World, saying, “We are committed to making a meaningful contribution to the Turkish World by organizing events and projects like this. Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian Vocational High School for Girls, and other Turkish educational institutions are working diligently in this area.”

The Turkish folk songs performed by the students, along with the dance performances, were greatly appreciated by the audience. These cultural displays, showcasing the richness of Turkish heritage, provided the participants with unforgettable moments.
