Head of the Human Resources Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salim Atay visited Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University on November 9, 2024.
On December 7, 2024, as part of the TalentforBIZ Career Event held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bishkek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay visited Kyrgyzstan, where he met with students from Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and conducted a special seminar.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay began his visit by meeting with Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan at the Rectorate. During the meeting, he was briefed on the university's academic achievements and its career-oriented activities.
After the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay held a seminar with first-year students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Management. The seminar was attended by Rector of Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Recai Doğan and Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov; Director of the Career Development Office, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seyil Najimudinova; and many students.
During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay advised the students on the importance of setting career goals, creating disciplined work plans, and taking strategic steps to achieve these goals. He emphasized that the undergraduate education period is crucial for both personal and professional development, noting that the experiences gained during this time play a decisive role in shaping one's career journey. He stated, "The steps taken at the right time form the foundation for future success."
Opportunities for Internships and Career Growth
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay also provided comprehensive information about the National Internship Program, coordinated by the Human Resources Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. He explained that this program offers university students the opportunity to complete internships in both the public and private sectors. The program aims to provide youth with work experience and improve their employability before graduation, based on the principles of equal opportunity and merit.
He also highlighted the significance of youth participation in national and international career fairs. He noted that platforms such as Talent Gate and Talent Everywhere Regional Career Fairs offer students valuable guidance on their career paths. These activities, aligned with Türkiye's vision of becoming an international talent center, offer unique opportunities for youth.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay acknowledged the success of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in meeting international education and research standards, particularly its inclusion in the QS World University Rankings, which reflects the high quality of education offered by the university. He praised Manas University as a key model for the region in terms of its academic and professional achievements.
Strengthening Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan Cooperation
The seminar concluded with a speech from Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, who expressed his gratitude to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay for his valuable contribution. Rector Ceylan announced that, as part of the National Internship Program, third- and fourth-year students of Manas University would also have the opportunity to participate in internships.
This significant visit provided the students of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University with access to international career opportunities and further strengthened the academic cooperation between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan.
