Commemoration Program: “The Artistic World of Aitmatov” on the 96th Anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov's Birth

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Faculty of Fine Arts organized a commemorative program titled “The Artistic World of Aitmatov” on December 12, 2024, marking the 96th anniversary of the birth of Chyngyz Aitmatov, one of the most prominent writers of the Turkic World.

The program was attended by Manas University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev; Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Recai Doğan and Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov; Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Kurshad Gulbeyaz; as well as academicians and students.

The event began with the screening of a documentary film highlighting the life and works of Chyngyz Aitmatov. Following the film, attendees appreciated captivating performances by faculty members and students from the Faculty of Fine Arts.

The performances, inspired by Aitmatov’s literary masterpieces, provided the audience with unforgettable and emotional moments. One of the highlights of the program was the “Artistic Reading” event, where students staged dramatic renditions of selected passages from Aitmatov’s works.

In addition to the readings, songs adapted from pieces such as “Remembering Chyngyz Aitmatov,” “Aselim,” “Missing the Issyk Kul,” and “Ilyas' Song” were beautifully performed by the faculty members and students of the music department.

Theater students also delivered a moving performance of Ak Keme, an adaptation of Aitmatov’s renowned work. Their emotional and meaningful performance received high praise from the audience.

These heartfelt performances demonstrated profound respect for Aitmatov’s artistic and literary legacy and were warmly appreciated by participants. The event concluded with a collective photo, commemorating this meaningful occasion.​
