Manas University’s Contributions to Tourism Education

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University has been entrusted with the coordination of the “Commission on Education and Methodology,” established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic to develop higher education standards for the tourism and service sectors.

As part of this significant responsibility, the commission tasked with updating undergraduate and graduate education programs in the fields of 600100 Service, 600200 Tourism, and 600300 Hotel Management, held its first meeting on December 13, 2024 at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

The meeting commenced with an opening speech by the Chairman of the Education and Methodology Commission and faculty member at Manas University’s Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr. Nurudin Kydyraliev. In his address, Prof. Dr. Kydyraliev presented the commission's objectives and responsibilities, introduced its members, and outlined the plan for the meeting. 

During the session, participants conducted a detailed evaluation of the educational standards to be developed for the tourism and service sectors. Commission members shared ideas on collaborative models to align education standards with industry requirements and established a work plan and timeline for future activities.

This initiative, spearheaded by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, marks an important step toward modernizing higher education standards in tourism in Kyrgyzstan and fostering integration with the sector. By strengthening the link between education and industry, the project is expected to make a significant contribution to developing the skilled workforce needed for Kyrgyzstan’s tourism sector.
