On February 25, 2025, the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, awarded the students who read the most books between September and December 2024. According to the data from the Department of Library and Documentation, six students who read the most books during this four-month period were presented with various gifts.
In his speech at the award ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ceylan emphasized that reading is a passion and noted that individuals who read books have a broader perspective, which enhances their academic success. Expressing his own deep interest in books, Prof. Dr. Ceylan encouraged the students to maintain this valuable habit throughout their lives.
During the ceremony, it was announced that the student who read the most books was Bekbolsun Bektashov, a student in the Furniture and Decoration Program of the Department of Technical Programs. Bektashov secured first place by reading 75 books. Shirin Asanova, a student from the Department of Turkology of the Faculty of Humanities, ranked second with 37 books, while Aizada Turatbekova, also from the same department, ranked third with 29 books. Aida Yrysbek kyzy and Samara Samatova, students in the Child Care Program of the Department of Economics and Administration, shared fourth place with 28 books each. Sagynai Arapbaeva, a student from the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of Communication, placed fifth with 26 books.
After the award ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ceylan visited the library and met with students who were studying and conducting research. He emphasized the importance of science and knowledge, wished the students success in their academic endeavors, and assured them that the university would always support them in their studies and projects.
This meaningful event continues to be an important tradition at KTMU, aiming to promote reading habits, support access to information, and encourage academic development.
